Why ChatGPT Says Something Wrong About Your Brand, and How to Fix It
ChatGPT getting your pricing, products or reputation wrong? The common reasons AI tools spread wrong information about brands, and the steps that fix it.

Sometimes the problem isn't that ChatGPT ignores your brand. It's that it talks about you and gets it wrong.
It lists a price you changed a year ago. It says you offer a service you dropped. It mixes you up with another company. Or it brings up a complaint that was resolved long ago as if it's still true.
This is one of the most frustrating issues brands bring to us at Sublime+, because the AI sounds so confident. The good news is that wrong answers usually have clear causes, and most of them can be corrected.
Why AI tools get brands wrong
Outdated information. AI models learn from text gathered at a certain point in time. If your pricing, products or positioning changed after that, the model may still repeat the old version.
Name confusion. If other companies share your name, AI tools can blend details together. We deal with this ourselves, since several businesses use the name Sublime. It's a big reason we always show up as Sublime Plus or Sublime+ with our domain, sublime-plus.com, attached.
Old negative content. A complaint thread from years ago can keep shaping how a tool describes you, especially if there's little newer content to balance it.
Thin information. When there isn't much about your brand online, AI tools sometimes fill the gaps with guesses. Those guesses can be wrong.
Errors in third party content. A comparison article with mistakes about your product can spread those mistakes into AI answers.
How to fix it
Make your website the clearest source of truth. Your homepage, about page and pricing page should state the key facts plainly: what you do, who you serve, what it costs and where you operate. A short, factual about page is one of the easiest wins.
Fix your details everywhere. Update your review profiles, directory listings, social bios and any other place your brand appears. The same name, the same description and the same facts, everywhere.
Correct the sources. If a comparison article or directory has wrong information, contact the publisher and ask for a correction. Many will update it, especially when you give them accurate details.
Create fresh, accurate mentions. New content in trusted places, like helpful Reddit discussions, updated reviews and current articles, gives AI tools better material to work with. Tools that search the web live will pick it up sooner.
Use the feedback buttons. Most AI tools let you rate answers and report inaccuracies. It isn't a full fix on its own, but it helps.
Check again every month. Ask the same questions across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and record what changes.
How long it takes
Tools that search the web live can reflect corrections fairly quickly once the new information is out there and indexed. What a model learned in training takes longer to shift, because it only updates when the model itself does. Expect steady progress rather than an overnight change.
If the wrong information comes from an old Reddit thread, read what to do when a negative Reddit thread ranks for your brand name. For more on how AI tools decide what to say, see how ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity decide which brands to recommend.
